いっそうロマンチックな雨の「七夕」(English ver. available)

日付はすぎてしまったけれど…あらためて「七夕」についてです。
七夕って? と問えば、誰もがこう答えます。
「織り姫と彦星が一年に一度、天の川を渡って会える日でしょ!」
そう!きょうはこのロマンチックな七夕物語をもう少しくわしくたどってみることにしましょう。
むかしむかし、「織り姫」という機織(はたお)りの大変上手な娘が天の川の近くに住んでいました。彼女は天の神様の娘。働きものの織り姫がくる日もくる日も機織りばかりする様子を心配した神さまは、人間界の牛使いの牽牛(彦星)という立派な若者と結婚させることにしました。
一目で恋に落ちたふたりは、あまりにも毎日が楽しく幸福で、それぞれの仕事を忘れて遊んでばかり。それをご覧になった神様はお怒りになり、二人を天の川の両岸に引き離してしまうのです。ただし一年に一度、7月7日の夜だけは会えるようにしてくださいます。
そうして今でも二人はその日が来るのを楽しみにして、天の川の両岸で星となって(織女星はこと座のベガ、牽牛星はわし座のアルタイル)瞬いているということです。これが1400年前の飛鳥時代に日本に入ってきたといわれる七夕の物語です。

天の川 ( the milky way)


七夕の楽しみといえば「短冊」飾り。どうして短冊に願いを書くことになったのかは諸説ありますが、もとは中国ではじまったもので、女性たちが「織り姫さまのように縫い物や機織りがうまくなりますように」と願う習慣がはじまりのようです。
ことしの七夕はあいにくの雨でした。雨は織り姫の「嬉し涙」、彦星が「天の川を船で渡るときの水しぶき」だという考えもあるそう。そう思うと雨の七夕って、いっそうロマンチックになりませんか。

“The Star Festival “TANABATA” become more romantic with rain”
Do you know “TANABATA” ,  The Star Festival in Japan.  It was originally Chinese legendary. Like this, Once upon a time, there was a girl named “Orihime”, who was so good at weaving. Also she was a daughter of the god of heaven,  and the father felt sorry for her doing weave everyday. He decided to get her married with a guy, named “Hikoboshi”, who was good worker. They fall in love soon and spent happy and joyful time every day, and they were getting lazy for each works. the god of heaven got angry seeing them and pull them apart cross-strait of the milky way. The got gave them a permit to get together across the milky way once a year, that is the day July 7th, “TANABATA” a star festival. People in Japan pray for a wish come true on the day with writing on Tanzaku, reed-shaped paper and put them on bamboo tree as decoration. Tanabata of this year was raining. it is said that rain on Tanabata express happy tears of Orihime and/or splash of the boat Hikoboshi rowing. What a romantic day rainy “Tanabata” is !!
